6. Edson Álvarez

Consistency remains Edson Álvarez’s successful crusade in the Dutch league with Ajax. The 24-year old Mexican midfielder has successfully held on to his position in the first team.


Erik ten Hag has played Edson Álvarez in different positions, including as a defensive Centre back, a defensive right back, a defensive midfield and a central midfielder.


Álvarez has no outstanding weakness ans is good at positioning and wins at aerial duels. In the 2021/22 season, he played 31 games, scoring five goals.

8. Noussair Mazraoui
